The two best times for professional cleaning in SEQ are mid-autumn (April–May) and late winter to early spring (August–September). Both periods follow the worst weather conditions — the summer wet season and peak winter pollen — and come before the next round of challenges begins.

Season by Season

Summer (December–February): Not Ideal

The wet season brings afternoon storms that can undo a fresh clean within days. Intense heat also causes solutions to dry too quickly, leaving streaks. If windows are heavily contaminated, clean them anyway — just expect to refresh again after the season ends.

Autumn (March–May): Excellent

Storm season winds down, temperatures cool, and there’s less pollen than spring. An April or May clean tends to hold well through the mild SEQ winter. This is one of the most popular times for residential window cleaning bookings — and with good reason.

Winter (June–August): Very Good

SEQ winters are mild and largely dry — ideal conditions. Lower humidity means less moisture on glass after cleaning. The only downside is that spring pollen season follows shortly after.

Spring (September–November): Good With Caveats

Spring brings warm temperatures but also pollen. If your household suffers from allergies, clean fly screens and windows in early September before peak pollen hits.

What About After a Storm?

Post-storm cleaning is always worth doing. A Queensland storm deposits dust, debris, insect residue, and sometimes actual mud on exterior glass. A post-storm rinse at minimum — or a full clean if heavily affected — is a smart call.
